Hosting
This site is delivered by Cloudflare, Inc. (101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). To deliver the pages securely, Cloudflare processes technical access data such as your IP address, the time of access and the page requested. Legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure, fast website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Visitor statistics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how many people visit which pages. It works without cookies and without fingerprinting, and it does not create profiles of individual visitors. Your browser loads a small script from Cloudflare (static.cloudflareinsights.com), which sends anonymous page view data such as the page, the referring site, the country and the browser type. Legal basis is our legitimate interest in understanding which content helps our readers (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
We also count, in totals only, which of our tools are used (for example how often a breathing exercise or an affirmation session is started or finished, a wallpaper is saved or something is shared) and how many seconds a page is actively used. Your browser sends a short note with the event name, the page and, for reading time, a number of seconds to our server (Cloudflare Workers Analytics Engine). It contains no IP address, no cookie, no identifier and nothing about you, so it cannot be linked to a person or to other visits. Legal basis is our legitimate interest in improving the tools people actually use (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Newsletter
If you subscribe, your email address is stored by our newsletter provider Klaviyo, Inc. (125 Summer Street, Boston, MA 02110, USA) only to send you the newsletter. You get a confirmation email first, and you are only subscribed after you confirm (double opt-in). Legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email. Klaviyo is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Together with your email we store the page you subscribed on and, if that page belongs to one pillar (Self, Social, Work or Purpose), that pillar. If you subscribe from your check-in result and tick the box, we also store your focus area from the check-in (one word, such as "Work"). Your answers and scores are never sent. We also store which letters you chose (the Sunday note always, the Midweek pause and For your five only if you tick them) and the pillars you pick on the choose your letters page. We use this only to send you the letters you chose and to put the notes of your pillars first.
Links to shops and partners
ifeelfive has no ads and uses no affiliate links at the moment. When we start working with affiliate partners, those links are labelled as such right where they appear, and we update this section first.
Wishlist and votes
On the wishlist you can vote for topics and suggest your own. We do not ask for your name or email. So that each person votes only once per topic, our server (Cloudflare) stores a shortened, salted hash of your IP address together with the topic for 90 days; the IP address itself is not stored. Suggestions are stored for up to 180 days so we can read them, with a similar hash for at most one day to limit spam. Your browser also remembers which topics you voted for (local storage on your device, never sent to us). Please don't write personal details in a suggestion. Legal basis is our legitimate interest in letting readers shape the content without accounts (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Your five and "Thought of you"
On Your five you can note up to five first names or nicknames. They are saved only in your own browser (local storage) and never sent to us; "Forget my five" or clearing your browser data deletes them. When you send something with "Thought of you", the first name and your words only go into the message you send yourself, through your own app (for example WhatsApp or email). The link in it carries a small marker (thought=1) so the person who opens it sees a short greeting; it says nothing about you or them.
Affirmations: favourites and your own words
On the Affirmations page, the sentences you mark as favourites, the ones you write yourself and your last choice of pillars are saved only in your own browser (local storage), so they are there next time. Clearing your browser data deletes them. Your own sentences are never sent to us. When you tap a heart, we also count it anonymously so we can show the most loved sentences: our server (Cloudflare) stores the number of hearts per sentence and, so that each person counts once, a shortened, salted hash of your IP address together with the sentence for up to 365 days; the IP address itself is not stored. Taking the heart back removes it. Legal basis is our legitimate interest in showing readers which sentences others find helpful (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Videos (YouTube)
Some notes include a short video hosted on YouTube, a service of Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). The video only loads when you press play. Until then no data is sent to YouTube. When you press play, the video is loaded in YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com): your browser connects to Google servers, which receive your IP address and the page you are on, and YouTube may store information on your device while you watch. Legal basis is your consent by pressing play (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG). Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. You can also watch every video directly on YouTube, Instagram or Facebook via the links on the page.
WhatsApp channel
Our WhatsApp channel is run on WhatsApp, a service of WhatsApp Ireland Limited (Merrion Road, Dublin 4, D04 X2K5, Ireland). This site only links to it and shares no data with WhatsApp. If you follow the channel, WhatsApp processes your data under its own privacy policy. As channel admins we cannot see your phone number or your name, and other followers cannot see them either. You can unfollow at any time in the app.
If you write to us, we use your message only to answer it. Emails to our address are forwarded by Cloudflare Email Routing, which does not store their content.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete and restrict the processing of your data, to data portability and to object to processing (Art. 15 to 21 GDPR). Write to the address above. You can also complain to a data protection authority, for example the Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und für das Recht auf Akteneinsicht Brandenburg.
