Some days I feel five.

Not a perfect day. A counted one.

In short

A five day isn't a perfect day. It's a day where five small things happened: you lifted someone up or someone lifted you, you were fully there for someone you love, you tried or learned something new, you didn't postpone a good moment to someday, and you did something for your body. Counting them in the evening turns an ordinary day into a quiet check-in.

  1. I lifted someone up, or someone lifted me.

    Inspiration goes both ways.

A kind word, a good idea, an encouraging message: both giving and receiving count. Try this: tonight, remember one moment today when someone's mood changed because of a conversation.

  2. I was fully there for someone I love.

    Phone away. Eyes up.

Being present doesn't take hours, just undivided minutes. Try this: give someone close to you ten minutes tomorrow with your phone in another room.

  3. I tried or learned something new.

Small counts. A new street, a new word, a new recipe.

Newness doesn't need a big adventure. A different route home is enough to wake up your attention. Try this: choose one small new thing for tomorrow before you go to bed.

  4. I didn't postpone today's good moment.

    "Someday" isn't on any calendar.

The call, the walk, the ice cream on a sunny afternoon: good moments often get pushed to later. Try this: notice one thing you're saving for someday and ask whether it could happen this week.

  5. I did something for my body.

    A walk is enough.

It doesn't have to be a workout. Stretching, a walk, an early night all count. Try this: pick the easiest version for tomorrow, something you could do even on a busy day.

Questions people ask

What makes a good day?

Often not big achievements, but small moments: connecting with someone, being present, learning something, enjoying a moment instead of postponing it and doing something for your body.

What questions can I ask myself at the end of the day?

Did I lift someone up or did someone lift me? Was I fully there for someone I love? Did I try something new? Did I enjoy a good moment today? Did I do something for my body?

Does every day need to be a five?

No. Some days are a two, and that's fine. Counting is not about scoring yourself, it's about noticing what made a day feel good so you can make room for more of it.

How long does an evening reflection take?

A minute or two is enough. Counting five simple moments before you sleep is a light habit that fits into almost any evening.
